BAD NEWS FROM SAINT LUCIA!! It has started raining at the venue, which is certainly not a good sign for this crucial Super 8 clash between India and Asutralia, which will have a lot of implications on who will face South Africa and England in the 2024 T20 World Cup semi-finals.

If rain ends up playing spoilsport on Monday, India would officially qualify for the semi-final. But Australia's fate would depend on the last Super 8 match between Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

If Afghanistan beat Bangladesh, Australia would be knocked out of the competition.

There were steady rains in St. Lucia around 11 PM local time.

The Indian team have reached St. Lucia ahead of the clash. The Indian team stars seemed to be in high spirits ahead of the Australia game.

Ayan Acharya reported that there were clear skies at night time and there hasn't been a lot of rain since 2-2:30 pm.

The weather on Sunday wasn't promising at all, according to Sports Tak's Vikrant Gupta. It seemed to be raining heavily on June 23, ahead of the game.

According to the folks at Weather.com, showers are predicted from 5 am in the morning till 7. The match will start at 10:30 am local time and it is expected to be cloudy during that time with a 19% chance of rain.

According to weather.com, there is a prediction of thunderstorms during the all-important fixture. However, the rain chances are slightly on the lower side to be at 15%. There are light rain chances of around 5% during the course of the game along with thunderstorms. Hence, Australia will hope for a full-fledged game as a washout and Afghanistan’s win over Bangladesh will knock them out of the tournament.

This might not be a semi-final or final of the ICC tournament, but India will look to avenge their ODI World Cup final loss against the Men in Yellow when they clash in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024. Set to be played in St Lucia, this will be both team's final match of the Super 8 stage.

India already have a foot in the semi-finals, having won two matches. Australia on the other hand have lost against Afghanistan and are just one game away from getting knocked out of the 2024 edition of the T20 World Cup. Australia's chances of qualification depend on them beating India, or on the hopes that Bangladesh will beat Afghanistan to clear their path to the semi-finals.
